Find the Hotel

There is no public bus to the door, but getting here by private transport is easy. About 30-40 minutes driving time from Krabi International Airport (KBV). The most efficient way would be to get a private taxi or shared minivan directly to the hotel. Shared vans are cheaper and explain that they will stop at several hotels along the main route; since Palm Kiri is just off this main loop, you may well be almost last dropped off! A private taxi costs more but drives straight into the lobby with no detours.

Once you are checked in, the most important "transport strategy" is that free shuttle. The hotel provides a modified pickup truck or tuk-tuk to Ao Nang Beach and the main commercial area, usually on a fixed schedule where it drops off near McDonald's/Aonang Landmark. Reliable and convenient for daytime trips to the beach but there has to be some planning involved in making sure one catches the return trip because if you're not at the meeting point on time then you've missed your ride.

For true freedom-which, by the way, is also arguably the best method of enjoying this particular resort-rent a scooter. The roads around Palm Kiri are paved and generally flat; even more important, they are far less chaotic than the main beach road. It becomes quite safe to classify as riding here. With your scoot rental five minutes from the beach you can check out nearby attractions like Fossil Shell Beach or head inland towards Tiger Cave Temple without having to negotiate with tuk-tuk drivers every single time you want to leave the property! If you do not ride then add that into your budget for local tuk-tuks (sidecar motorcycles) bringing you back up here after dinner because it is too long and dark of a walk at night.
